CB went in to the game against Alton hoping to continue their good form. CB Set up in our usual 4-4-2 low press formation, CB totally dominated the opening exchanges scoring 2 and having 2 disallowed in the first 20 minutes. Jerome Edwards (Photo) opened the scoring on 10 minutes with a neat move finished with a pin point cross from Shak leaving Jerome with a tap in. The 2nd goal was the goal of the day with the wand that is Jerome's left foot leaving the keeper with no chance from 20 yards. CB dominated the remainder of the 1st half without converting any chances, but with 2 minutes to the break CB conceded a penalty which Alton duly converted.
HT 2-1
CB started the 2nd half very slowly allowing Alton in the game, Alton scored their 2nd after a good flowing move. Alton grew in to the game and the young side started to play some good football. CB huffed and puffed a bit, and it wasn't until 80 minutes when Jordan Vidal in his new role in central midfield , burst through and smashed the ball home to make it 3-2. On 85 minutes Owen Hunte sealed the game with a cross come shot which the Alton keeper would have been disappointed not to save.
All in all a solid performance against are young Alton side, the only disappointing thing on the day is we have lost 4 key players through injury for our Semi Final on Tuesday against our Landords. The gaffer has said he is confident our youngsters who will be drafted in for Tuesday will rise to the challenge.
Next up in the CCL is Chess & Hook at the Orchard on 31st March 730 k.o.
