Unbeaten v Unbeaten was the talk of the day.

CB were looking forward to welcoming Neville Roach and his Eversley team who were unbeaten and no doubt title contenders for Div one this season. It was a yard stick for CB after finishing 7th last season to see how we could compete against a side tipped for promotion.

In the first half CB slightly dominated possession with no clear cut chances. We did force numerous corners and the keeper had to come out on a couple of occasions to clear there lines. Eversley had what looked like a very clear shout for a penalty when CB keeper Alex Wines came off his line to clear the ball and looked to have cleaned the Eversley player out. The Assistant Referee said that the keeper had got a hand to the ball first and awarded a corner. Alex Wines said " I came out and just got my fingers to the ball for a corner before making contact", everybody in the ground thought it was a pen apart from the Assistant Referee and 1st team coach Marc Gorman who also called it a corner.

HT CB 0 - 0 Eversley & California FC

The 2nd half saw CB Hounslow go behind and concede for the first time this season. Eversley were awarded a penalty on 55 minutes which was brilliantly dispacthed giving the keeper no chance. We were looking for a reaction and within five minutes we got one when Nduka Azagba (Cooky) recieved the ball on the right, he took the right footed shot early across the keeper and in the back of the net to level the score. We did't have to wait to long for Nduka's second and goal of the game, he again picked up the ball on the right cut inside and unleashed a rocket of a left foot curling effort in to the top corner. Five minutes later the game was put to bed when Aston Ventour was slotted through, it was a race between Aston and the centre half which was only going to have one winner, Aston coolly slotted home his 6th of the season. Eversley never stopped trying to get back in the game, they were a very strong organised bunch who will know doubt be pushing for honours this year, they were definitely weakened by the early exit of the injured No:7 who was very impressive.

Good Luck to Eversley for the rest of the season.
