This was not going to be a day for the football CB like to play, a very muddy pitch in the middle and windy conditions against a very big physical Dorking side.
The first half was pretty even with Alex Wines in between the sticks for CB making a good early save from Dorking to set the tone of the 1st half. The few chances that fell during the first half were dealt with comfortably by the keepers. Kyell Henry saw his header from 6 yards out go over the bar probably the clearest chance of the half.
HT 0-0
The second half started even with the 1st chance going to CB with a great move down the right between Tommy Oneill and Jordan Vidal, Jordan saw his left foot shot flash inches over the bar. Dorking opened the scoring from a well placed corner and close range free header hitting the back of the net. It wasn't long before CB had levelled things, with a neat move starting from the keeper playing out from the back. Alex Wines played the ball out to Dunnel King, then with a swift passing move between Jerome Edwards, Tommy Oneil and Abdhul Said, the door opened for Jordan Vidal to burst down the right hand side and smash home a right footed shot to claim his 1st of the season.
FT 1-1
With centre forward Nick Hardy still out with injury,Gavin & Stuart Bamford missing from the starting line up, CB began the game with two 16 and two 17 year old's on the pitch. A testament to our youth policy at the club giving kids a chance.
All in all a fair result and one we would have taken before the game.
The return league game against Dorking is this Saturday 12th at the Orchard.
