A Disappointing Start To 2016

CB went to Frimley Green knowing that despite the 25 point gap between the 2 teams this wouldn't be an easy fixture. Like Worcester Park the Pitch is not the biggest but was in good condition considering the recent weather. CB were missing both Gavin and Stuart Bamford and were without 1st choice keeper Alex Wines, but the management team were confident of a result with the side that was put out.

Possession was pretty even in the first half with CB having the best of the chances. Jordan Ireland probably should have done better in the opening minutes with a close range header but the keeper did well to keep it out. Jordan Ireland went close again with another header just missing the target. Stef Nor had a penalty claim turned away mid way through the 1st half with some neat work before going down in the box. Next up was Nick Hardy through 1 on 1 with the keeper, with everyone in the ground thinking CB were going 1-0 up, only for the keeper to make a great save with his legs. CB certainly didn't dominate the half but had enough opportunities to go in at the break with the lead.

HT 0-0

Frimley came out fired up for the 2nd half, they dominated a large part of the 2nd half but only really created one chance of note, this came when Frimley got in between the 2 CB centre half's only for the CB keeper to pull off a fantastic save from point blank range. Frimley broke the deadlock with an absolute worldie from 30 yards that no keeper was keeping out, to put the home team ahead. With minutes to go CB pushed for the equalizer when after some good work Nduka Azagba found himself on his own 6 yards out with the keeper to beat only to blaze over.

FT 0-1

Although CB sit top of the league, missed chances has been the story of our season, eventually it was going to catch us out and today was the day. A testament to how far we have come this season was the jubilant celebrations of the Frimley Green players. I don't think a single person in the ground could argue we deserved something from the game.

Well done to Frimley, who if they play with the same desire for the rest of the season will no doubt take a lot of points.
