Wines back between the sticks & Ventour Hat - Trick sees maximum points for CB in the last 3 games.

CB Hounslow went in to this game after 2 solid away wins at Cobham Fc and Staines Lammas.

With every 1st team squad player available for selection apart from Abdhul Said ( Hamstring), it was an usual problem for the manager to have. For the first time this season we have 2 centre forwards to pick from, with Nick Hardy finally back from injury and Aston Ventour available it was a good problem to have. The 1st team has spent most of the season with both centre forwards unavailable using square pegs in round holes to fill the gaps. Kyle Cherry has been excellently deputising for No 1 Keeper Alex Wines who was also back between the sticks after a recent minor operation.

Last years league winners Farleigh never role over for anyone and were dogged in their approach today, they brought a small squad to the Orchard but without creating too many chances didnt make it easy in the opening exchanges.

CB were dominating possession but were 30 minutes in to the 1st before opening the scoring with Aston Ventour netting his first. It wasn't long before some good work down the left from Stef Nor created CBs and Astons second to put CB 2-0 up.

HT 2-0

The 2nd half opened as the first finished with CB moving the ball quickly and dominating possession. After a neat passing move, up stepped Aston Ventour to complete his hat - trick. Nick Hardy replaced Aston on 60 minutes and CB continued to press and create chances, how ever as much of the season has gone we failed to finish them off.

Farleigh went down to 10 men with 15 to go and looked better for it, with some good possession in CBs half but gained nothing to show for their efforts, the game began to fizzle out and finished with a comfortable 3-0 win for CB.

FT 3-0

With 5 games to go and a full squad available with the added luxury of 2 strikers available, CB are in a good position for the run in. After last years impressive run in, to get as close to promotion as possible was the club goal this season, with 64 points on the board the club has a realistic chance of promotion.
