“Learning EVERTIME”, building the confidence in how good we are & starting to understand what happens when we all do things right

Southern Youth Football League
U18 West Division
CB Hounslow United (3) v (0) Fleet Spurs
Wednesday 14th October 2015 – 19:30 KO

Our CB Hounslow United Elite u18s have been working hard for a few games now; making certain mistakes along the way, however, “learning EVERTIME”, building the confidence in how good we are & starting to understand what happens when we all do things right. Work hard out of possession has been a key target for us over the weeks; great to see this develop now & becoming a comfortable unit of players (a very decent TEAM of players playing for each other now).

Today’s games was never going to be easy, having spoken to the Fleet manager prior to KO, they have a similar direction with their 18s, development & senior football, good to hear.
The boys started bright with plenty of desire & discipline pushing forwards as a unit at pace. With only 20 minutes gone Scott Flannigan received the ball wide on the right, cut inside his man & hit a sweet left footed shot from outside the box which flew past the Fleet goalkeeper, 1 – 0 CB, good goal, I have to admit very decent Scotty “Love that”. Our back 4 was very comfortable all game, even without our right back Tommy O’Neil (a first team regular now) so rested for his benefit but knowing Tommy, he was very gutted not to be a part of tonight’s game “sorry pal”.. We love you Tommy.

Fleet did try and break with some decent play down the left; however, it was great to see the work ethic from Oliver Wright & on the Right Scott Flannigan working very hard to win the ball back constantly looking to receive it, best performance so far chaps, keep it up…. “I never thought I’d put that together in one sentence (Ollie /Scott working hard).. well done” … With all the pressure coming from us, the Ref penalised one of Fleet Spurs midfielders & a free kick was awarded 20 years inside their half out on the right hand side close to the touchline, Jake, our left back stepped up; with an excellent strike & the keeper blindsided by the commotion in the area, the ball skipped of the ground into the bottom left of the net, a 45 yarder 2-0 CB Hounslow.

New Signing; Levi Camacho was absolutely outstanding, direct, technically sound, very strong bossing the midfield & instrumental to in our possession with Mr Lal, never letting us down , superb. A great addition to a team that’s just getting better & better each week. The half needed on a positive note, Elisard gave us a great deal of work & made a nuisance of himself as Centre Forward, getting in the right areas & the boys picking him out more frequently, with that a strong header from him unlucky just to hit the cross bar.

Half Time – 2-0 CB Hounslow
Second half.

Another excellent start from the boys, pushing forwards with confidence, a great bit of work “twos” down the right hand side, Scott fired a ball into the box from the right, Elisard got across his man well at the front post only to direct the shot the wrong side of the post. Substitutions on: Oliver & Conor on (Conor going left back the defenders shuffled over to release the hound….in that if Atwayne from his right back duties going Left Midfield so he could have his FUN “with the we still dominated the game, Fleet having very little of the play due to our hard work and ball retention. Out on the left a another good play sent Antwayne pushing down the left hand side cutting in and hitting an awesome low shot into the back of the new – 3-0 CB Hounslow & Antwayne had his FUN.

Full Time CB Hounslow 3 Fleet Spurs 0

What can I say, except what I have been saying for the past 4 weeks, we are getting better & better every week, it’s exciting to watch & a pleasure to see the boy’s stand up and be counted EVERY GAME now using the principles of play CB Hounslow stand by.

Man of the Match: another hard decision this week, thanks boys you all are contenders AGAIN, but, I have to give it to Harvey Lal for consistency
