2nd Round Challenge Cup CB Hounslow Vs Guildford City

After several time calling this game off due to weather, we finally got to host this tough game vs Guildford City in the Challenge Cup

The boys are playing well but only managed to have 2 games in as many months due to weather & after today, this is the 3rd Quarter final achieved by the boys in what has proved to be a hugely successful season SO FAR; being a new team. CBH are always set up to press fast & keep the ball moving quickly & forwards whenever possible with the results off this speaking for themselves. Today we did that reasonably well, although the decision making could have been better in spells.

Guilford City Stared the game quickly & showed super potential in trying to have our boys on their back foot, which they was, for a short period of time, however, CBH, absolutely, having the best & more convincing chances during the first half with the first goal coming from a superb Run down the right from Brandon Logie who’s effort on goal /across the keeper forcing the ball into the oncoming Elisard who slotted in the well-deserved first goal 1-0 CBH ”textbook stuff” Good to watch. With a few one-on-ones not converted By the CBH Boys half time ended 1- 0 CB Hounslow.

Half Time CB Hounslow United (1) - (0) Guildford City

The Second half see some changes up top brining on Kai for Elisard & changing a couple of positions around so that the boys are still developing and understanding various plays, but it was Guilford who come out and again pressed fast, in numbers and showed some delightful football on the edge of our box, quite scary for us watching, however, never seemed to have much in the most dangerous areas to finish their hard work off; CBH had the same problem, we must have had 4 / 5 one-on-ones not converting making this game tense, although, for the spectators I presume it was very entertaining stuff. George in Goal for Dimi today & he showed that he has developed well, able to take the number 1 shirt thinking fast & pulling off a couple of good saves helping the team out “well done George “ great to see. CBH continued to push forwards & it took some fantastic football from the right between Ollie, Scott & Brandon excellent one touch stuff with Ollie “the impact player” Wright getting the ball back inside the box & with a left footed shot putting us up 2-0, super goal. 2-0 CB Hounslow United .

Guildford did grab a goal back, a free header via a corner initially stopped, however, just like a pinball machine the ball was off the line several times before ending up in our net giving Guildford hope 2-1. The CB boys did bounce back well with a penalty being awarded, however, the Guildford keeper read Levi well & saved his shot with Levi putting the rebound wide…decent goal keeping to be fair “ the keeper who also plays for Hampton & Richmond” whom Levi scored against him last time (he must have watched the DVDs of Levi’s penalties in the past  - game finished 2-1 CB Hounslow Through to the next Round of ANOTHER Cup .

Great team spirit, with excellent individuals who want to play for each other enjoying the way CB Hounslow play football
