FA CHARTER STANDARD DEVELOPMENT AWARD

CB HOUNSLOW UNITED FC were awarded the prestigious FA Charter Standard Community Club status in 2014, as a progression from the FA Charter Standard Development Club status which was awarded to us back in 2011.

The FA Charter Standard Clubs programme, is supported by the FA Community Partner McDonald's, and was launched in February 2001 with the aim of setting standards of coaching, administration and child protection for clubs working with young people.

To achieve the standard, CB HOUNSLOW UNITED FC were required to introduce and enforce the following requirements:

• Have a designated FA Charter Standard Co-ordinator
• To be formerly constituted
• Require a set of recent Committee meeting minutes
• Be affiliated to a County FA
• Have at least one team playing in an FA sanctioned League
• Have a bank account in the club’s name
• Provide a balance sheet and profit and loss account
• Have a Club Equality Policy
• Implement The FA Respect Codes of Conduct
• Have a club link to recruit and/or progress players
• A good disciplinary record
• Club officals with clear job descriptions
• A minimum of 90% of all coaches to be members of the
FA Licensed Coaches Club
• A Club Safeguarding Policy
• All Team Officials to have an FA Enhanced CRC check
• Minimum of one FA Level 1 coach with an in -date
FA Emergency Aid and Safeguarding Children certificate
with every team
• Minimum of one FA Youth Award Module 1 coach for every
four teams
• Coach:Player ratio of 1:16 max
• A minimum of five teams covering at least four different
age groups
• A Football Development Plan for three to five years
• At least one Level 2 coach with one of the teams
• Minimum of one FA Youth Award Module 2 coach for every
six teams
Plus The FA Charter Standard Community Club Criteria:
• Minimum of ten teams covering mini-soccer, youth and
adult football
• Has a minimum of one male and female team
• At least two Level 2 coaches within the club
• Minimum of one FA Youth Award Module 3 (assessed)
coach within the club
• One person who has attended The FA Mentoring
Adults course
Annual Commitment:
• Complete the annual health check
• First aid kit at all training sessions and fixtures
• Organise an FA Respect briefing for all officials, managers
and spectators
• Attend one County FA in service event
• Review development plan with County FA
• If the senior team plays in the National League System
(steps 1-7) one coach to attend a six hour or two, three hour
coaching workshops annually.
